Insurance

Insurance We Currently Accept

Barela Counseling PLLC is proud to be an in-network provider with the following insurance plans:

  • Aetna

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBS TX)

  • Cigna

  • UnitedHealthcare / Optum

We also welcome self-pay clients, and can provide a superbill upon request for out-of-network reimbursement submission.

We are actively expanding our insurance network. If you don't see your plan listed, please contact our office — we're happy to check your specific benefits or discuss self-pay options.

Self-Pay Rates

Service Rates:

Individual counseling $125

Couples counseling $150

Family counseling$150

All sessions are 50 minutes. (Family or Couples may go longer)

Payment is due at the time of service. Cash, credit and debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to give clients who are uninsured or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your scheduled service. You can also ask for one before scheduling. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Cancellations

Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours' notice so the time can go to someone else. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be charged the full self-pay rate — insurance does not cover missed appointments.
